Alli designed and made a ring for my daughter from links in a bracelet I inherited from my mother - it is fabulous! I just had Alli make another ring, just the same, for my other daughter!

After being a loyal customer of jewelry repair for 10 years, I can say I will never return. In the past, I exclusively worked with Lee with no issues whatsoever, he recently retired. My most recent visit I had to work with Alli on a resizing of a silver ring. She said she would solder "bumps" to the inside of the ring, but the oxidation would come off. Alli told me it would not be a problem because she could reoxidize the ring. When I picked up the ring the "bumps" were way too big and uncomfortable and the oxidation was completely off. When I brought up my disappointment she was rude, unwilling to work with me, and refused to let me speak to her coworkers. When I asked to speak to the owner she informed me that he no longer wanted my business. This should have been an inexpensive, easy fix. Now the ring is ruined, money wasted, and The American Diamond Exchange does not care. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I WILL BE A VALENTINES CUSTOMER FOR LIFE AS WILL MY FAMILY ! DONT BE FOOLED BY THESE NEW HAVEN PEOPLE, they don't care if you come back or not !

Love this place!

I cannot strongly recommend enough to NOT go to The American Diamond Exchange. My fiancé and I were looking for a ring so we went to the ADE where the salesman recommended they make a custom ring for us since they didn’t have exactly what we wanted. We were talked into putting down $500 on a custom ring and promised it would be exactly as we wanted. A few weeks went by and we came to pick it up. It was a twisted hunk of deformed metal and didn’t resemble a ring at all. When confronted, ADE told us we were out of luck and this is the best their people can do. My Fiancé cried, we threatened recourse but had none. They told us to pay for the rest of the hunk of metal or lose our deposit. We had no choice and had to walk and lose $500, which was a lot of money for a young couple. They didn’t care, they were rude, deceiving and stole our money. BEWARE, never go to this place, ever!

My neighbor worked at the Diamond Exchange for years, consequently I shopped there. I bought a wedding band and setting in white gold (i previously had yellow and now wish i had not changed). NO sales person shared the fact that white gold must be redipped frequently to maintain the shine - (Ive had more honest car salesmen). They also charged me each time $200 for two rings to be dipped (a 2mm wedding band and a engagement setting). RIPPED OFF FOR YEARS . VALENTINES IN milford ct charged me $48 for three rings to be dipped and they told me the customers who purchase there get dipping for free for life. The personnel was friendly, family owned, and their prices reasonable.
