You will encounter a hilarious, laid-back guy with a tremendous love for biking, and as a bonus, he will answer any questions you have, fix your clicks and clanks, order custom parts, fit your bike to your body shape, and even build you a bike from the frame up. Highly recommended.

Karl is without a doubt one of the most knowledgeable and thorough bike mechanics I've met. He truly takes care of his customers, from full service custom builds (dang those Royal H paint jobs are fresh!) to seasonal tuneups, and can keep you grounded in the world of ever-changing disc brake standards and handlebar tape designs.

I brought my bike to other shops and they just couldn't adjust it properly. Karl fixed my bike perfectly. I am so happy with the way it is working now. I can't thank you enough, True Cyclery.

I have been to bike shops all over the country as a bike "tourist" for over 40 years. Karl at True Cyclery is now my all time favorite bike shop. I came to Karl by way of the Seven website looking to have a new custom bike built to replace my 12 year old Bilenky. I was seeking an unusual frame design to get more upright as a result of major neck surgery. Karl (and Neil, the designer at Seven) patiently worked with me to create a bike frame with an upright position but with drop handlebars to create a ride that is smooth, stable and solid that handles really well downhill in fast turns. Plus I have a two chainring compact with an 18.9 inch low gear to a high gear of 108 inches. And Karl took apart and tuned my old Bilenky to run like new. If you want glitz and a fancy showroom, go somewhere else. If you want a great mechanic and a caring bike guru who will give you personal and attentive service, Karl is your guy.

If you want personal attention, this is your place. It may be small but you (and your bike) will be attentively taken care by one of the most avid bikers in the area. They also sponsors rides throughout the year, if you want to get out and and see the New Haven area and meet new people.

Gorget about getting your bike tuned- just come to hang out with Karl!
