love alchemy i always have so much fun, they have all kinds of music for every one to enjoy, once these girls tried to fight me and the bouncers kicked them out immediately, its one of the safest clubs to go to downtown newhaven :) they have a pool table which is awsome in case u don't want to dance and they always have awsome themes and partys
A run down nightclub that shouldn't even be open anymore. It was really fun back in 2007 and 2009 and threw some great theme party's. I especially loved the foam party's and how wild they got. I was there last summer and the whole place was dead at 11:30. I was there with some friends and the place has literally only like 7 ppl in it included my friends and the people that worked there and another couple who shortly left. We stood till about midnight and left and went to bar and had an awesome time there. Alchemy really went downhill and shouldn't even be open anymore. Many ppl I know say the exact same thing. They don't even allow both floors open anymore and that probably drove away business. I remember a time when I was there like 3 years ago and the whole place was soo dead and one of their own bartenders told us we should try out bar down the street. New haven nightlife isn't what it used to be anymore but still. This place you'll waste your money on cover charges and they water down your drinks. Go someplace else like bar or toads
this place is terrible. always full of underaged kids or creepy older men. surprised it's still up and running. disguisting.
First, I walked by about 5 bouncers and the person i had to pay to get in wioth my hat on. Then when i get onto the dance the 6th bouncer tells me i have to take my hat off. Now Mind you, its not a ball cap, it's a nice hat. Nothing fancy, just an accessory that went well with my outfit. So i ask to speak with the manager/owner. And it just so happens that he's right next to me. I tell him how i pasted about 5 bouncers with my hat on and paid before they told me to take my hat off. He told me that those are the rules. I said ok, but it would have been nice to know at the door so i could decide if i wanted to pay to come in. He then offered to watch my hat for the remainder of the night. I agree'd. and proceeded to have an ok night. The lights show in there was great, sound system is very nice, dance floor was adequate for a friday night, the seating was appropriately placed, Bathroom is small and i know its going to get messy, but it was a mess in there. Floor was saturated with urine. I know the club owner didnt put it there, but maybe could have had someone monitor the status of it throughout the night.
