The farnam guest house is a quiet and relaxing alternative to the traditional hotel. The location is about mile from the downtown area which provides for a great walk in the warmer months. Ths service provided is very personal and the owner goes above and beyond for her guest.
I have stayed in several guest houses in the Americas and Europe, and this was certainly my best experience. The house is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, a few steps from the Yale Blue Line shuttle, that will take you to the campus in 5 minutes. It has a great variety of amenities: a welcome breakfast for your first day, fast wifi, a variety of things to drink at all times (bottles of fresh water, coffee, tea), cookies. Everything is clean, everything is comfortable. But most importantly, Elizabeth, the host, is a nice and welcoming lady who will make everything to make you feel at home. She will tell you about the things to do in town, take you to do groceries if necessary, and try to accommodate all your needs, while also respecting your space and your privacy. I stayed here for one full month, and If I come back to New Haven, I will certainly stay here again.

Lovely b&b, very close to a few Yale shuttle bus stops and within walking distance from the old campus and New Haven city centre. Elizabeth, Maria and Juana will take care of you as if you were at home.
