Finally, good restaurant comes to New Haven! Beautiful environment, delicious food and drink, good service, everything is wonderful! Happy hour, lunch, wow! Next time I will try their steak.
Overall, the food was good and the staff was nice, the issue seemed to be the kitchen getting the food out in a timely matter. Tipping is for good service and although we left a tip, we did not give as much as we normally do and our group probably spent about $300 on drinks and food. Also, I understand that it is not in the control of the staff when patrons pay their bill, but stay sitting around. However, my thought is that at some point, maybe after 30 mins, they should have politely explained that the table was reserved and if they wanted, they could move to the bar area.
Don't think I'd ever visit the restaurant again for a seated meal...the bar, maybe.
Very friendly and accommodating! Could not be more convenient to the Shubert Theater. Service was a bit slow but in all fairness we had a party of 12.
Mario was the example of customer service. We were visiting from Toronto, Ontario and were not disappointed for our night in town. Exceptional food, service and atmosphere!! Best steak I have had in a very long time, the weight of the knife cut through the meat. Cheers.
We were a group of six (3 couples) and although we did not have a reservation, we put our name on a wait list knowing it would be 30-45 mins. We went to the bar and had a round of drinks, and our experience at the bar was fine, but, after waiting for over an hour for a table, hunger starts to set in! We considered ordering at the bar, but being six of us, there was not enough room as three of us were standing. Throughout, the hostess walked over to us a few times to try and explain that the table for us had patrons who had paid but not left, on her third stop and 1 hr. 30 mins in, she said they would comp us appetizers, which we thought, was very nice of the restaurant; a few mins. later we were finally seated, once again we waited about 1 hr. 35 min.
We were so excited to finally have a table, but to our disappointment the waiting continued! It took 15 min for bread, another 25 min for the appetizers and an hour for the entrees. We kept looking around, and although busy, it didn't look like food was coming out of the kitchen fast enough.
